മനുഷ്യനും ആദർശങ്ങളും

സ്വന്തം ആദർശങ്ങളുടെയും നിലപാടുകളുടെയും മേലുള്ള ഗാന്ധിജിയുടെ കടുംപിടിത്തം അതിന്റെ പരിണിതഫലങ്ങൾ;  കേരളത്തിലെ-ഇന്ത്യയിലെ കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടിയുടെ സൈദ്ധാന്തിക കാഴ്ച്ചപ്പാട് പ്രവർത്തന രീതി; ഇന്നു കാണുന്ന കോൺഗ്രസ്സു പാർട്ടിയുടെ ആദർശരാഹിത്യം, പ്രീണന നയം; കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ്-മുതലാളിത്ത-സ്വതന്ത്ര വിപണി സമ്പദ്ഘടനാ സിദ്ധാന്തങ്ങൾ അവയുടെ പ്രായോഗികതലത്തിലെ അനുഭവങ്ങൾ; ജനാധിപത്യ-എകാധിപത്യ ഭരണസംവിധാനങ്ങളുടെ പ്രായോഗികതലത്തിലെ  അനുഭവങ്ങൾ; ഇവ നോക്കി വിലയിരുത്തിയപ്പോൾ മനസ്സിൽ ഉറപ്പായ ഒരു കാര്യം ഇതാണ്  - മാതൃകാപൂർണ്ണമല്ലാത്ത ഒരു ലോകത്ത്  മാതൃകാപൂർണ്ണമായ ആദർശം നടപ്പാക്കുക ആർക്കും സാദ്ധ്യമല്ല. പക്ഷേ ന്യായമായ വിട്ടുവീഴ്ച്ചകൾക്ക് തയ്യാറായികൊണ്ട്  താൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ആദർശത്തിന്റെ സാക്ഷാത്ക്കാരത്തിനു വേണ്ടി കടുംപിടിത്തമില്ലാതെ പരിശ്രമിക്കാം. അതാണ് പ്രാവർത്തികം.

ആത്മകഥയിലെ "പൂർത്തീകരിക്കപ്പെടാത്ത സ്വപ്നങ്ങൾ" എന്ന അദ്ധ്യായത്തിന്റെ തുടക്കത്തിൽ മാർട്ടിൻ ലൂതർ കിങ്ങ് എഴുതി: "I guess one of the great agonies of life is that we are constantly trying to finish that which is unfinishable. We are commanded to do that. And so we, like David, find ourselves in so many instances having to face the fact that our dreams are not fulfilled. Life is a continual story of shattered dreams......Well that is the story of life....It may not come today or it may not come tomorrow, but it is well that it is within thine heart. It's well that you are tying. You may not see it. The dream may not be fulfilled, but it's just good that you have a desire to bring it into reality. It's well that it's in thine heart."
